At Descher, we can take the lead on ground-up custom mechanical designs, or we can integrate with an onsite staff by providing "a-la-carte" CAD services. Although our primary focus is industrial automation, our team's knowledge of mechanical systems allows us the flexibility to design anything from simple jigs and fixtures to complex kinematic assemblies. Our machine-building experience is brought to bear as we design for manufacturability, and every component is specified to form, fit, and function. Whether we're designing from a client's napkin-sketch or shop-detailing a completed assembly, we will deliver a robust, serviceable, well-documented work-product.
Using our state-of-the-art 3D software (ProE & Solidworks), we can also offer a suite of finite element analysis (FEA) services in support of our clients' mechanical designs. With a combination of CAD and traditional engineering tools, we can provide documented analyses of dynamic systems, and, where feasible, we can offer electromechanical energy conversion analysis.
Should a project require functional samples, we can work with our rapid-prototyping partners to provide SLA and SLS models for many designs. A combination of in-house fabrication and outsourced machining allows us to build prototypes and one-offs for most kinematic assemblies, and even handle some small-scale production runs.
