This simple semi-automatic pneumatic machine press was implemented on an assembly line in a large consumer products manufacturing facility. The machine is designed to stake dual trigger-retention pins and finish-press a shaft bearing in a common hand-held power tool. The operator loads the plastic tool-handle in the fixture, and presets the pins and bearing. The press cycle is then engaged by a pair of anti-tie-down optical buttons, with a retrofitted light-curtain providing redundant operator protection.
