Descher LLC was organized in 2008 by principals James Schaefer and Megan Demers with the mission of providing custom automation to regional manufacturing. The business quickly expanded to include contract engineering and product development services, and subsequently purchased its current facility in downtown Raleigh, NC, to accommodate that growth. As one corner of NC's research triangle, Raleigh provides Descher with a large pool of locally available technical resources. Also nearby are Raleigh-Durham International Airport, freight and commuter rail, and NC State University.
